The disco light chicken were exhibited in 1998 at Night jazz (Project 12 Nights) and was a continuing process, after Project 12 Nights -96 (the philosophy restating dog), placed at the same space at the entrance of the festival area.
The bird’s eyes were blinking in relation to music; the light was connected to a disco light transformer that was plugged into a CD player.
With help from Lasse Myrvold I sampled music from Gong and Ginger Baker, replacing some of the instruments with sounds from chickens recorded from a chicken farm.
The chickens are made of clay, glue, excelsior and feathers collected in chicken farms (with the results that I didn’t eat chicken for a while).
